FTP User Manager allows you to give additional
users FTP access to specific directories in your account. This is
great if you want to
- Exchange files that are too large for email
- Enable different designers to manage different parts of your
website without allowing them to modify sections they don't have
access to.
FTP users will have their own user name and password
and will be able to modify only the files you give them rights to.
Here are the steps to creating and managing an FTP user.
Creating A New User
-
Click Add new user link
-
Provide the information requested (Username, Password, Disk
Quota, Starting directory). NOTE that if you want the starting
directory to be within your website, you must put the full path
to the web directory on our servers like this: domain-www/username
where "domain-www" is the web directory on your account
and "username" is the new username you're creating.
- Now simply click the "Apply" button.
Deleting An Existing User
-
Click on the name of the user you wish to delete
-
Click Delete Current User.
-
If you wish to remove the user directory for this person and
all the data within it when asked "Also remove home directory
and files?", Select "Yes".
-
Confirm the directory listed is the one you want to remove.
-
Click "Apply"
